Imam Ali (AS) said, He (‘a) said about al-Ashtar al-Nakha‘ī: He is the sword of Allah that does not fail to strike and is not blunt in its edge; he is not impressed by any innovations nor is he led astray by misguidance [and temptation].
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : وَقالَ ـ عَلَيْهِ السّلامُ ـ في حَقِّ الأشْتَرِ النَخَعِي: هُوَ سَيْفُ اللّهِ لايَنْبُو عَنِ الضَّرْبِ وَ لاكَليلُ الحَدِّ وَ لاتَسْتَهْويهِ بِدْعَةٌ وَ لاتَتيهُ بِهِ غَوايَةٌ
