Imam Ali (AS) said, The basis of piety is refraining from the forbidden [actions].
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مِلاكُ الوَرَعِ اَلكَفُّ عَنِ المَحارِمِ
