Muhammad ibn Musa ibn al-Mutawakkil (RA) said: Muhammad ibn Yahya al-`Attar said, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn `Imran al-Ash`ari, on the authority of Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn `Isa, on the authority of `Ali ibn al-Hakam, on the authority of Sayf ibn `Amrah, on the authority of Abu Bakr al-Hadrami that Abu `Abd Allah al-Sadiq (AS) was asked to interpret the Word of Allah, the Mighty and High: And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring. He (AS) said
“The sons fall short of the deeds of the fathers, so Allah, the Mighty and High, unites the sons with the fathers so that their eyes may rest.”
