The Word of Truth refers to Qurʾān 48:26; the Highest Example to Qurʾān 16:60; the Firmest Link to Qurʾān 2:256 and 31:22; and the Strong Rope to Qurʾān 3:103. The Path of Guidance is perhaps an allusion to Qurʾān 4:115 or 47:32 and the Greatest Proof to Qurʾān 6:149. Those whose affection God has commanded is a reference to Qurʾān 42:23. Contemplate, as such, how the Qurʾān's many verses are allusions to the virtues of and guidance offered to us by the person of the Proof of God (ʿas) or criticism for their enemies, as the aḥādīth teach us. And further contemplate how, while the Ahl al-Bayt (ʿas) comment on and explain the meanings of the Qurʾān, the Qurʾān comments on and explains the status of the Ahl al-Bayt (ʿas). Though none understand save those firmly rooted in knowledge (Qurʾān 3:7), who are none other than the True Commentators (mufassirūn), the Ahl al-Bayt themselves (ʿas). May God send His blessings on Muḥammad (ṣ) and the family of Muḥammad (ʿas), hasten their relief, and curse their enemies. Refer to Tafsīr Furāt al-Kūfī under the commentary for 10:32 for a similar tradition reported from Imām al-Ṣādiq (ʿas), this time from Imam ʿAlī (ʿas), who mentions it while giving a sermon in Kūfah.
