11-2 Abū Muḥammad ʿAbd Allāh b. Ḥāmid narrated to us, he said: Abū Bakr Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar narrated to us, he said: Ibn ʿArafah - meaning al-Ḥasan - narrated to us, he said: al-Ḥakam b. Ẓuhayr narrated to us; from al-Suddī; from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Sābiṭ al-Qurashī; from Jābir b. ʿAbd Allāh al-Anṣārī, who said
"A man from among the Jews by the name of Bustān came to the Prophet (s) and said, 'O' Muḥammad, inform me about the stars which Joseph (ʿas) saw prostrating before him, what were their names?' The Prophet of God (s) did not answer him anything that day. Then Gabriel (ʿas) descended after some time and informed the Prophet (s) of their names." Jābir added, "The Prophet of God (s) sent for Bustān, and when he came, the Prophet (s) asked him, 'Will you become Muslim if I inform you of their names?' He replied, 'Yes.' The Prophet (s) then said, 'They are Jarbān, al-Ṭāriq, al-Dhayyāl, Dhū al-Kanafān, Qābis, Waththāb, ʿAmūdān, al-Faylaq, al-Muṣbiḥ, al-Ḍarūḥ, Dhū al-Qarʿ, al-Ḍiyāʾ, and al-Nūr. He saw them on the horizon of the heavens prostrating before him. When Joseph (ʿas) told Jacob (ʿas), Jacob said, "This is a disparate affair which God - Mighty and Exalted - will gather together afterwards."' Bustān said, 'By God, these are truly their names.'"
