252. Abu Ali Al-Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbaar, from Ibn Fazzaal and Al-Hajjaal, from Sa’albat, from Abdul Rahmaan Bin Muslama Al-Jariry who said
I said to Abu Abdullah (asws): ‘They reproach us and belie us that we are saying that the two ‘announcements’ which are to occur. They are saying, ‘How would we differentiate between the true one from the false one, if we were to be there?’ He (asws) said: ‘So what do you respond to them with?’ I said, ‘We do not respond to them with anything’. He (asws) said: ‘Say to them, ‘Those who believed in it from before (have faith) would recognise it. Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic Says: “[10:35] Is He then Who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed, or he who himself does not go aright unless he is guided? What then is the matter with you; how do you judge?”
أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ وَ الْحَجَّالِ جَمِيعاً عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ الْجَرِيرِيِّ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) يُوَبِّخُونَّا وَ يُكَذِّبُونَّا أَنَّا نَقُولُ إِنَّ صَيْحَتَيْنِ تَكُونَانِ يَقُولُونَ مِنْ أَيْنَ تُعْرَفُ الْمُحِقَّةُ مِنَ الْمُبْطِلَةِ إِذَا كَانَتَا قَالَ فَمَا ذَا تَرُدُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ قُلْتُ مَا نَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ شَيْئاً قَالَ قُولُوا يُصَدِّقُ بِهَا إِذَا كَانَ مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ أَ فَمَنْ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْحَقِّ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُتَّبَعَ أَمَّنْ لا يَهِدِّي إِلَّا أَنْ يُهْدى فَما لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ.
