Hadith 1792

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Hamdan ibn Sulayman from Ali ibn al-Hassan from Ja‘far ibn Ahmad al-Makfuf who has said the following
“I once wrote to abu al-Hassan, al-Awwal (a.s.), and asked about drinks like oxymel, rose- water, jam of mulberry, pomegranate, quince and apple; if the seller is not knowledgeable when they are sold in our market places. He (the Imam) wrote, ‘It is permissible and it is not harmful. 5 ”
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ حَمْدَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ الْمَكْفُوفِ قَالَ
كَتَبْتُ إِلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الْأَوَّلِ ( عليه السلام ) أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ أَشْرِبَةٍ تَكُونُ قِبَلَنَا السِّكَنْجَبِينِ وَ الْجُلَّابِ وَ رُبِّ التُّوتِ وَ رُبِّ الرُّمَّانِ وَ رُبِّ السَّفَرْجَلِ وَ رُبِّ التُّفَّاحِ إِذَا كَانَ الَّذِي يَبِيعُهَا غَيْرَ عَارِفٍ وَ هِيَ تُبَاعُ فِي أَسْوَاقِنَا فَكَتَبَ جَائِزٌ لَا بَأْسَ بِهَا .
