7. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il from Yunus ibn Ya‘qub from Mu‘awiyah ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who knows the truth and brings boiled juice (grape juice). He says that it is cooked until two-thirds are evaporated but I know that he drinks even when only half is evaporated; if I can drink it while he drinks only when one-half is evaporated. He (the Imam) said, ‘Do not drink it.’ I then asked about the case of a man who is not of the people who know the truth, and we do not know him but he drinks only when two-thirds of juice are evaporated. He does not consider it lawful to drink after one-half is evaporated and he informs us about a boiled juice (grape juice), says that its two-thirds have evaporated and only one-third is left; if we can drink it. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, you can drink it.’”
