Hadith 1614

4. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Muhammad ibn Ali from Yunus ibn Ya‘qub from his brother Yusuf who has said the following
“Once I was with abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), in al-Hijr (near al-Ka‘bah) and he asked for water. Water was brought in a yellow bowl (made of brass) and a man said, “Abbad ibn Kathir dislikes drinking water from yellow.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’ He (the Imam) said to the man, ‘Did you ask him (‘Abbad ibn Kathir) if it was made of gold or silver?”’
عَنْهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ أَخِيهِ يُوسُفَ قَالَ
كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) بِالْحِجْرِ فَاسْتَسْقَى مَاءً فَأُتِيَ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ صُفْرٍ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ إِنَّ عَبَّادَ بْنَ كَثِيرٍ يَكْرَهُ الشُّرْبَ فِي الصُّفْرِ فَقَالَ لَا بَأْسَ وَ قَالَ ( عليه السلام ) لِلرَّجُلِ أَلَّا سَأَلْتَهُ أَ ذَهَبٌ هُوَ أَمْ فِضَّةٌ .
