Hadith 1595

2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Sa‘id ibn Junah from Ahmad ibn ‘Umar al-Halabiy who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), when giving advice to a man said, ‘Reduce drinking water; it may stretch all illness and refrain from taking medicine as long as your body can take the pain.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جَنَاحٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْحَلَبِيِّ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) وَ هُوَ يُوصِي رَجُلًا فَقَالَ لَهُ أَقْلِلْ مِنْ شُرْبِ الْمَاءِ فَإِنَّهُ يَمُدُّ كُلَّ دَاءٍ وَ اجْتَنِبِ الدَّوَاءَ مَا احْتَمَلَ بَدَنُكَ الدَّاءَ .
