Hadith 1589

7. Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Kufiy has narrated from Ali ibn al-Hassan al-Mithamiy from Ali ibn Asbat from ‘Abd al-Samad ibn Bandar from al-Husayn ibn ‘Ulwan who has said the following
“Once, a man asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the taste of water. He (the Imam) said, ‘Ask to understand not to harass. The taste of water is the taste of life.’”
أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْكُوفِيُّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْمِيثَمِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُلْوَانَ قَالَ
سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ طَعْمِ الْمَاءِ فَقَالَ سَلْ تَفَقُّهاً وَ لَا تَسْأَلْ تَعَنُّتاً طَعْمُ الْمَاءِ طَعْمُ الْحَيَاةِ .
