5. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn Faddal from abu al-Mighra’ from Ibrahim ibn Maymun who has said the following: “Ibrahim ibn al-Muthanna’ once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), this, when I was listening, ‘A man leases land, then rents to someone else for more than what he pays.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful because land is not like a house or a worker on hire. Extra in the rent of a house is unlawful and extra in hiring is unlawful.’”
