“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man whose sandals were destroyed and was not able to find one, said, ’He can use a shoe in an emergency. He can tear its back for an opening and if he wears a shawl he must not button it. If one needs to use a Qaba (a long coat) because of cold and cannot find other cloths he must wear it upside down and must not wear its sleeves on his arms.’”
