13. Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Jamil ibn Darraj who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘Allah loves those who repent and cleanse themselves’, said, ‘People would cleanse themselves after using the toilet with cotton and stones. Thereafter, He (Allah) sanctioned Wudu’ and it is of the noble characteristics. The Messenger of Allah commanded people to take Wudu’ and himself performed it. Thereafter Allah revealed in His book, “Allah loves those who repent and those who cleanse themselves. (2:222)’”
