Hadith 226

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-Husayn ibn abu al-‘Ala’ who has said the following
“I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who experiences a wet dream and orgasm but when he wakes up, does not find any sign of discharge in his clothes or body. He (the Imam) said, ‘Ghusl (bath) is not necessary on him. 5 He (the Imam) said, ‘Ali (a.s.), would say, “Ghusl (bath) becomes necessary because of major (semen) discharge. If one experiences a wet dream but does not find any sign of semen, Ghusl (bath) is not necessary on him.’””
1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَلاَءِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَرَى فِي الْمَنَامِ حَتَّى يَجِدَ الشَّهْوَةَ فَهُوَ يَرَى أَنَّهُ قَدِ احْتَلَمَ فَإِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ لَمْ يَرَ فِي ثَوْبِهِ الْمَاءَ وَلاَ فِي جَسَدِهِ قَالَ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ الْغُسْلُ وَقَالَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) يَقُولُ إِنَّمَا الْغُسْلُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ الأكْبَرِ فَإِذَا رَأَى فِي مَنَامِهِ وَلَمْ يَرَ الْمَاءَ الأكْبَرَ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ غُسْلٌ.
