Ali has narrated from his father from ibn al-Mughirah from abu Jarir al-Qummiy who has said the following “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Abu Ja‘far would perform the Qada’ (compensatory prayer) twenty al-Witr in one night.’” 11ـ عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ أَبِي جَرِيرٍ الْقُمِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ كَانَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) يَقْضِي عِشْرِينَ وَتْراً فِي لَيْلَةٍ. Similar narrations Al-Kāfi #1780 “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about Qada’ (compensatory prayer for) al-Witr after al-Dhuhr. He (the Imam) said, ‘Perform Qada’... Man Lā Yaḥḍuruh al-Faqīh #1430 "My father (Imam (as)) would sometimes make up twenty Witr prayers in a single night."
