Hadith 1295

9. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah from Aban from ‘Abd al- Rahman ibn abu ‘Abd Allah, who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Al-Qunut in obligatory Salah (prayer) is pleading (before Allah) and in Witr it is to ask forgiveness (from Allah).’” (Ahadith 1-9 are best explained in the form of fatwa.)
9ـ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
الْقُنُوتُ فِي الْفَرِيضَةِ الدُّعَاءُ وَفِي الْوَتْرِ الاسْتِغْفَارُ.
