17. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Salih ibn al-Sindi from Ja’far ibn Bashir from ‘Uthman from abu ‘Usamah who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘If one hears a person’s sneezing and praises Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, and asks Allah to grant al-Salat (favors) upon Muhammad and the Ahl al-Bayt (family of Muhammad), he will not suffer from a toothache or eye trouble.’ The Imam then said, ‘When you hear it (sneezing) respond to it even if there is an ocean between you and the person sneezing.’”
