Hadith 939

Ja`far b. Muhammad b. Masrur (rh) narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn b. Muhammad b. `Amer narrated to us from Mu`alla b. Muhammad al-Basri from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Abi Nasr al-Bazanti from `Ali b. Ja`far. He said
I heard Aba’l Hasan Musa b. Ja`far (as) say: The Messenger of Allah (s) was sitting when an angel visited him. It had twenty-four faces. So, the Messenger of Allah (s) said to him: My beloved Gabriel, I have never seen you in this form. So, the angel said: I am not Gabriel. I am Mahmud. Allah sent me to marry the light to the light. So, he (s) said: Who to who? He said: Fatima to `Ali. He said: When he turned around, he saw that, between his shoulders, it was written: “Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, `Ali is his deputy.” So, the Messenger of Allah (s) said: When was this written between your shoulders? So, he said: Twenty-two thousand years before Allah created Adam.
19 - حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن مسرور (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا الحسين بن محمد بن عامر، عن معلي بن محمد البصري، عن أحمد بن محمد بن أبي نصر البزنطي، عن علي بن جعفر، قال
سمعت أبا الحسن موسى بن جعفر (عليه السلام) يقول: بينا رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) جالس إذا دخل عليه ملك له أربعة وعشرون وجها، فقال له رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): حبيبي جبرئيل، لم أرك في مثل هذه الصورة؟ فقال المك: لست بجبرئيل، أنا محمود، بعثني الله عزوجل أن أزوج النور من النور. فقال (صلى الله عليه وآله): من ممن؟ قال: فاطمة من علي. قال: فلما ولى الملك إذا بين كتفيه: محمد رسول الله، علي وصيه. فقال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): منذ كم كتب هذا بين كتفيك. فقال: من قبل أن يخلق الله عزوجل آدم باثنين وعشرين ألف عام (1).
