Hadith 58

Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi rh) narrated to us. He said: My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi’l Qasim narrated to me from Muhammad b. `Ali al-Kufi from Nasr b. Mazahim from Abi `Abd al-Rahman al-Mas`udi from al-`Alaa’ b. Yazid al-Qurashi. He said: Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: My father narrated to me from his father from his grandfather (as). He said
The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Sha`ban is my month, and Ramadan is the month of Allah. Whoever fasts a day in my month, I will intercede for him on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever fasts two days in my month, his past sins will be forgiven. Whoever fasts three days in my month, it will be said to him: “Resume your deeds” (i.e. you will start anew). Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan, guards his private, holds his tongue, and stops harming people, Allah will forgive his past and future sins, and He will make him free from the Fire, and He will put him in the Abode of Settlement, and He will accept his intercession for as many monotheist sinners as there are grains of sand.

قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): شعبان شهري، وشهر رمضان شهر الله عز وجل، فمن صام يوما من شهري كنت شفيعه يوم القيامة، ومن صام يومين من شهري غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه، ومن صام ثلاثة أيام من شهري قيل له: استأنف العمل، ومن صام شهر رمضان فحفظ فرجه ولسانه وكف أذاه عن الناس، غفر الله له ذنوبه ما تقدم منها وما تأخر وأعتقه من النار، وأحله دار القرار، وقبل شفاعته في عدد رمل عالج من مذنبي أهل التوحيد (1).
