۞
My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from Ayyub b. Nuh from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Muthanna b. al-Walid al-Hannat from Abi Basir. He said
Abu `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as) said to me: Do you become sad, worry, and suffer? I said: Of course, by Allah. He said: When that happens, then remember death, your solitude in your grave, the streaming of your eyes onto your cheeks, the breaking of your joints, the worms eating your flesh, your misfortunes, and your cutting off from this world; for that is what prompts you to perform deeds and deters you from much of the protectiveness over this world.
