The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Surely, the Trustworthy Spirit informed me from my Lord: “A soul does not die until its sustenance has been depleted. So, fear Allah, and beautify your pursuit of livelihood. Know that sustenance is of two types: sustenance that you pursue, and sustenance that pursues you. Pursue your sustenance lawfully. If you pursue it in the right manner, you will have consumed it lawfully, but if you do not pursue it in the right manner, you will have consumed it unlawfully. It is your livelihood, and you cannot but consume (deplete) it.”
