Hadith 398

Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil (rh) narrated to me. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to me from Muhammad b. `Isa from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from `Abd al-Rahman al-Sarraj, who raised it to Abi `Abdillah (as). He said
Whoever cuts out a new robe [for himself] and recites inna anzalnahu fi laylatil qadr thirty-six times; when he reaches tanazzul al-mala’ikatu, something of water gently sprinkles on the robe. Then, when he prays two units in it, supplicates to his Lord, and says in his supplication: “Praise be to Allah who granted me that which beautifies me among the people, covers my private, and allows me to pray to pray to my Lord therein (alhamdulillahil lathi razaqani mimma atajammal bihi fi ‘nas, wa awari bihi `awrati, wa usalli fihi li rabbi)”, and praises Allah, he will continue to be given food until that robe wears out.
10 - حدثني محمد بن موسى بن المتوكل (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثني علي ابن ابراهيم، عن محمد بن عيسى، عن محمد بن أبي عمير، عن عبد الرحمن السراج، يرفعه إلى أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام)، قال
من قطع ثوبا جديدا وقرأ (إنا أنزلناه في ليلة القدر) ستا وثلاثين مرة، فإذا بلغ (تنزل الملائكة) (2) أخرج شيئا من الماء ورش بعضه على الثوب رشا خفيفا، ثم صلى فيه ركعتين، ودعا ربه، وقال في دعائه: الحمد لله الذي رزقني مما أتجمل به في الناس، وأواري به عورتي، وأصلي فيه لربي، وحمد الله (3)، لم يزل يأكل في سعة حتى يبلى ذلك الثوب (4).
