Muhammad b. Abi `Abdullah al-Kufinarrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi Bishr narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn b. Haytham narrated to us. He said: Sulayman b. Dawud al-Minqari narrated to us from Hafs b. Ghiyath. Whenever he would narrate to us from Ja`far b. Muhammad (as), he would say: The best of Ja`fars (khayr al-ja`afir) Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) narrated to me.
