Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi (ra) narrated to us. He said: My father (ra) narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. al-Husayn b. Sa`id narrated to us from Suhayl b. Ziyad al-Wasiti from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Rabi` from Muhammad b. Sinan from Abi’l Aghur al-Nakhas. He said
I heard al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) say: Fulfilling the need of a believer is better than one thousand accepted Hajj with its rites, freeing one thousand slaves for the sake of Allah, and preparing one thousand horses in the way of Allah with a saddle and bridle.
1 - حدثنا الشيخ الفقيه أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن موسى ابن بابويه القمي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أبي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن الحسين بن سعيد، عن سهيل (1) بن زياد الواسطي، عن أحمد ابن محمد بن ربيع، عن محمد بن سنان، عن أبي الاغر النخاس، قال
سمعت الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليه السلام) يقول: قضاء حاجة المؤمن أفضل من ألف حجة متقبلة بمناسكها، وعتق ألف رقبة لوجه الله، وحملان ألف فرس في سبيل الله بسرجها ولجمها (2).
