The Messenger of Allah (s) said to his companions: Should I not tell you something, that if you do it, Satan would be as far away from you as the East is from the West? They said: Of course. He said: Fasting blackens his face, charity breaks his back, loving for the sake of Allah and putting an effort into performing righteous deeds cuts his tail, and repentance cuts his artery. Everything has a purifier, and the purifier of the bodies is fasting.
