3. He said: Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Umar ibn Salim has reported to me from Abu Ja’far Muhammad ibn Isa al-Ajaly, who reported from Masood ibn Yahya al-Nahdi, who reported from Sharik, from Abu Ishaq, from his father that
Once when the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, was sitting with a group of his companions, ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib approached near him. Then the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said: "Whoever wishes to look at Adam in his image and nobility, at Noah in his wisdom, at Ibrahim in his forbearance, he should look at ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib."

بينما رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله جالس في جماعة من أصحابه إذ أقبل علي بن أبي طالب عليه السلام نحوه، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله: من أراد أن ينظر إلى آدم في خلقه ، وإلى نوح في حكمته، وإلى إبراهيم في حلمه فلينظر إلى علي بن أبي طالب.
