hadith 1208
Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Fasting is just as much keeping away from prohibited things as it is keeping away from food and drink.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): الصِّيامُ اجتِنابُ المَحارِمِ كما يَمتَنِعُ الرجُلُ مِن الطَّعامِ والشَّرابِ.

hadith 1209
Fatima al-Zahra (AS) said, ‘What is the fasting person doing with his fast if he is not guarding his tongue, his hearing, his sight and his limbs [from sins]?!
فاطمةُ الزَّهراءُ (عَلَيهَا الّسَلامُ): ما يَصنَعُ الصائمُ بِصِيامِهِ إذا لَم يَصُنْ لِسانَهُ وسَمعَهُ وبَصَرَهُ وجوارِحَهُ؟!
