a man once came to Imam al-Sadiq (AS) saying, 'I have a neighbour whose slave girls sing and play the lute, and sometimes when I go to the outhouse I take my time there so I may listen to them…? So Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said to him, 'By Allah! Have you not heard the verse of Allah, Mighty and Exalted, [in the Qur'an], "Verily the hearing and the sight and the heart, each of those shall be answerable for it"?!
