Imam al-Rida (AS) said, 'Fornication has been prohibited due to the corruption it engenders, from murder to illegitimacy to ill-breeding of children to broken lineages and all sorts of other social ills.
الإمامُ الرِّضا (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): حُرِّمَ الزِّنا لِما فيهِ مِنَ الفَسادِ مِن قَتلِ الأنفُسِ ، وذَهابِ الأنسابِ ، وتَركِ التَّربيَةِ للأطفالِ ، وفَسادِ المَوارِيثِ ، وما أشبَهَ ذلكَ مِن وُجُوهِ الفَسادِ .
