Blameworthy Fame

The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘It is bad enough for a man - except for one whom Allah protects from evil - that people should point the finger at him with regard to either his faith or his worldly affairs.

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Every single servant who desires to raise his own status in this world, Allah abases his status in the Hereafter by a greater and longer extent.

Imam al-Sadiq (AS), in his description of a believer, said, ‘He neither desires repute in this world, nor does he grieve at its disgrace. People have their own matters of significance that they tend to, whilst he occupies himself with his own concerns.
