Jabir narrated that he told Imam Baqir (a.s) that the
jurisprudents in Kufa said: “On the Resurrection Day, they shall bring a man with a mouth-piece made of fire. God will tell him: O' My servant! What made you hide your knowledge?” He will say: “O' my Lord! I feared your servants.” God will say: “I deserved more to be feared”, and then God orders him to be thrown into the Fire.” Imam Baqir (a.s) said: “I swear by God that the jurisprudents of Kufa are liars. If this was true, God would have not praised -in His Book- the believer in the family of Pharaoh who covered up his faith for six hundred years since he was Pharaoh's treasurer.”
عن جابر قال: قلت لأبي جعفر (عليه السلام): إن فقهاء الكوفيين يقولون: إنه إذا كان يوم القيامة جئ بعبد ملجم بلجام من نار، فيقول الله عز وجل: يا عبدي، ما حملك على أن كتمت علما علمتك، فيقول: يا رب خفت عبادك، فيقول: أنا كنت أحق أن تخافني، فيؤمر به إلى النار. فقال أبو جعفر (عليه السلام): كذب والله فقهاء الكوفيين، أما والله لو كان ذلك حقا ما أثنى الله على مؤمن آل فرعون في الكتاب، وقد كتم إيمانه ستمائة سنة وهو خازن فرعون.
