hadith 934

Imam Sajjad (a.s) said: “There are four things that perfect your Islam and cleanse your sins, and enable you to meet the Lord pleased with you in the Hereafter: 1- Fulfilling all your promises to the people, 2- Honesty with the people, 3- Being ashamed of whatever is shameful near God and the people. 4- Being good-tempered with the family.”

عن علي بن الحسين (عليهما السلام) قال

أربع من كن فيه كمل إسلامه ومحصت ذنوبه ولقى ربه وهو عنه راض: وفاء لله بما يجعل على نفسه للناس، وصدق لسانه مع الناس، والاستحياء من كل قبيح عند الله وعند الناس، وحسن خلقه مع أهله.

hadith 938

In Rauzat al-Vaezeen it is narrated that the

Prophet (a.s) said: “(On the Resurrection Day) those of you who are the most honest, most trustworthy, the ones with the best temper and the ones closest to the people will be closest to me and will deserve my intercession the most.”

ومن كتاب روضة الواعظين: قال النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله): إن أقربكم مني غدا وأوجبكم علي شفاعة أصدقكم لسانا، وأداكم للأمانة، وأحسنكم خلقا، وأقربكم من الناس.

hadith 941

Imam Sajjad (a.s) said: “The rights of the tongue include forbidding it from swearing, and vain talk and fostering proper talking and kindness to the people.”

قال علي بن الحسين (عليهما السلام): حق اللسان إلزامه عن الخنا وتعويده الخير، وترك الفضول التي لا فائدة لها، والبر بالناس، وحسن القول فيهم.

hadith 943

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “Be a source of honor and respect for us, not a means of disgust. Talk nicely with the people. Watch your tongue, and do not boast or swear.”

قال الصادق (عليه السلام): كونوا لنا زينا ولا تكونوا علينا شينا، قولوا للناس حسنا، واحفظوا ألسنتكم، وكفوا عن الفضول وقبح القول.
