Imam Ali (AS) said, Wealth honours its possessor as long as he spends it and abases him when he is miserly with it.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اَلْمالُ يُكْرِمُ صاحِبَهُ ما بَذَلَهُ وَ يُهينُهُ ما بَخِلَ بِهِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, One who does not let go [of his wealth] while he is praised will have to leave [it] while he is vilified.
