Imam Ali (AS) said, The wretched is one who is proud of his condition and is beguiled by the deception of his hopes.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اَلشقيُّ مَنِ اغْتَرَّ بِحالِهِ وَ انْخَدَعَ لِغُرُورِ آمالِهِ

الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : أشْقاكُمْ أحْرَصُكُمْ

Imam Ali (AS) said, How many a wretched person has been visited by his death while he is striving to acquire [worldly gain].
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : كَمْ مِنْ شَقِيّ حَضَرَهُ أجَلُهُ وَ هُوَ مُجِدٌّ فِي الطَّلَبِ
