Imam Ali (AS) said, Then listen attentively, O people, and open the ears of your hearts so that you may understand.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : فَاسْمَعُوا أيُّهَا النّاسُ وَعُوا وَ أحْضِرُوا آذانَ قُلُوبِكُمْ تَفْهَمُوا

Imam Ali (AS) said, Deaf is the heart that does not have an attentive ear.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : وُقِرَ قَلْبٌ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ أُذُنٌ واعِيَةٌ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Verily these hearts grow weary just like bodies become weary, so seek out wise sayings for them.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : إنَّ هذِهِ القُلُوبَ تَمِلُّ كَما تَمِلُّ الأبْدانُ فابْتَغُوا لَها طَرائِفَ الحِكَمِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, The heart is a spring of wisdom and the ear is the place where it sinks [and enters] in.
