Imam Ali (AS) said, Jealousy towards a friend for the blessing [he has been endowed with] stems from low self-esteem.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مِنْ صِغَرِ الهِمَّةِ حَسَدُ الصَّديقِ عَلَى النِّعْمَةِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Do not be jealous of each other, for jealousy eats away the faith like fire consumes firewood; and do not have hatred for one another for this is severing [for the faith].
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : لاتَحاسَدُوا فَإنَّ الحَسَدَ يَأْكُلُ الإيمانَ كَما تَأْكُلُ النّارُ الحَطَبَ وَلاتَباغَضُوا فَإنَّها الحالِقَةُ
