hadith 5511
Imam Ali (AS) said, Few are those who increase their consumption of food and dont fall ill [because of it].
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : قَلَّ مَنْ أكْثَرَ مِنَ الطَّعامِ فَلَمْ يَسْقَمْ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Seldom does one increase his consumption of excess foods without getting afflicted by sicknesses.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : قَلَّ مَنْ أكْثَرَ مِنْ فُضُولِ الطَّعامِ إلاّ لَزِمَتْهُ الأسْقامُ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Eating less food is more honourable for the soul and makes good health last longer.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : قِلَّةُ الغِذاءِ أكْرَمُ لِلنَّفْسِ وَ أدْوَمُ لِلصِّحَّةِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Eat citron before food and after it as the progeny of Muhammad (s) do this.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : كُلُوا الأُتْرُجَّ قَبْلَ الطَّعامِ وَ بَعْدَهُ فآلُ مُحَمَّد يَفْعَلُونَ ذلِكَ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Whoever eats less, his aches [and ailments] are reduced.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مَنْ قَلَّ طَعامُهُ قَلَّتْ آلامُهُ

Imam Ali (AS) said, One who sows in himself the love of different types of food, reaps the fruit of a variety of maladies.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مَنْ غَرَسَ في نَفْسهِ مَحَبَّةَ أنْواعِ الطَّعامِ اِجْتَنى ثِمارَ فُنُونِ الأسْقامِ
