Imam Ali (AS) said, Be cautious of being deceived by the delusion of a small hindrance or being made to stumble by the joy of an insignificant transitory pleasure [of this world].
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اِحْذَرْ أنْ يَخْدَعَكَ (يَخْتَدِعَكَ) الغُرُورُ بِالحائِلِ اليَسيرِ أوْ يَسْتَزِلَّكَ السُّرُورُ بِالزّائِلِ الحَقيرِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, The consolidation of delusion is in sleeping with ease in the presence of the enemy.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : جِماعُ الغُرُورِ فِي الاِسْتِنامَةِ إلَى العَدُوِّ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Blessed be the one who has not been killed by the lethal poisons of deception.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : طُوبى لِمَنْ لَمْ تَقْتُلْهُ قاتِلاتُ الغُرُورِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, It is enough of a delusion for a person to trust all that his soul lures him towards.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : كَفى بِالمَرْءِ غُرُوراً أنْ يَثِقَ بِكُلِّ ما تُسَوِّلُ لَهُ نَفْسُهُ

hadith 7601
Imam Ali (AS) said, He (‘a) said about the one whom he praised: He has not been killed by the lethal poisons of delusion and has not been covered (or overcome) by the uncertainties of matters.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : وَ قالَ ـ عَلَيْهِ السّلامُ ـ في حَقِّ مَنْ أثنى عَلَيْهِ: لَمْ تَقْتُلْهُ قاتِلاتُ الغُرُورِ وَلَمْ تُغَمَّ (وَ لَمْ تُعَمَّ) عَلَيْهِ مُشْتَبِهاتُ الأُمُورِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, He who trusts in the falsehood of delusions and yearns for the false [and short-lived] joys has not thought about the consequences of matters.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : لَمْ يُفَكِّرْ في عَواقِبِ الأُمُورِ مَنْ وَثِقَ بِزُورِ الغُرُورِ وَ صَبا إلى زُورِ السُّرُورِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, When a person persists in sinning and [still] expects to be forgiven, then he is under a delusion about Allah, the Glorified.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مِنَ الغِرَّةِ بِاللّهِ سُبْحانَهُ أنْ يُصِرَّ المَرْءُ عَلَى المَعْصِيَةِ وَ يَتَمَنَّى المَغْفِرَةَ
