hadith 5667
Imam Ali (AS) said, One who trades covetousness for loss of hope [and desire for what others posses], the people will not treat him with contempt.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مَنْ باعَ الطَّمَعَ بِاليَأْسِ لَمْ يَسْتَطِلْ عَلَيْهِ النّاسُ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Never let yourself covet that which is above your needs thereby letting it overcome you with the desire for more.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : لاتُطْمِعَنَّ نَفْسَكَ فيما فَوْقَ الكَفافِ فَيَغْلِبَكَ بِالزِّيادَةِ
