Hadith 1543
1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn Ja‘far from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn Musayyib who has said the following
“The virtuous servant (of Allah) has said, ‘You must eat al-Luft, that is, turnips; everyone has a vein of leprosy and al-Luft dissolves it.’”
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ قَالَ
قَالَ الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ ( عليه السلام ) عَلَيْكَ بِاللِّفْتِ فَكُلْهُ يَعْنِي السَّلْجَمَ فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَ لَهُ عِرْقٌ مِنَ الْجُذَامِ وَ اللِّفْتُ يُذِيبُهُ .

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from ‘Abd ‘Abd al-’Aziz al-Muhtadiy in a marfu‘ manner who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Everyone has a vein of leprosy, so you should dissolve it with turnips.’ ”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْمُهْتَدِي رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ
مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَ فِيهِ عِرْقٌ مِنَ الْجُذَامِ فَأَذِيبُوهُ بِالسَّلْجَمِ .

3. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ya‘qub ibn Yazid from Yahya ibn al-Mubarak [from ‘Abd Allah ibn al- Mubarak] from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from Ali ibn abu Hamzah who has said the following
“Abu al-Hassan or abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘Everyone has a vein of leprosy so you should dissolve it with turnips.’”
عَنْهُ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ [عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ] عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبَلَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) أَوْ قَالَ
عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَ بِهِ عِرْقٌ مِنَ الْجُذَامِ فَأَذِيبُوهُ بِأَكْلِ السَّلْجَمِ .

Hadith 1546
4. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from al-Hassan ibn al-Husayn from Muhammad ibn Sinan from those whom he has mentioned who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You must eat turnips and continue to do so. You must keep it a secret except from its people; all people have a vein of leprosy so you must dissolve it with turnips.’”
عَنْهُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ
عَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّلْجَمِ فَكُلُوهُ وَ أَدِيمُوا أَكْلَهُ وَ اكْتُمُوهُ إِلَّا عَنْ أَهْلِهِ فَمَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَ بِهِ عِرْقٌ مِنَ الْجُذَامِ فَأَذِيبُوهُ بِأَكْلِهِ .
