The Rare Ahadith

“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that if forty people take part in the funeral of a person and say the following: ‘O Allah, we do not know anything about him. All we know is good deeds,’ Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, will say, ‘I accept your testimony and forgive him for things that he did but you had no knowledge of.’”

“Al-Bara’ ibn Ma‘rur al-Tamimiy al-Ansariy was in al-Madinah and the Messenger of Allah was in Makkah. He died when the Messenger of Allah and Muslims would face Jerusalem during prayer. He said in his will that when he died, the Messenger of Allah should place him facing Qiblah in the grave. This became a Sunnah (tradition). He also said in his will that one-third of his properties should be given to the needy. A verse in the Holy Quran was revealed about one-third of the properties of a deceased and it became an established Sunnah (tradition).”
