Offering Greeting of Peace to Women

“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ’You must not initiate Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace) to women and you must not invite them for food; the Holy Prophet (saww) has said, “Women are tiredness (weakness in communication) and a matter of private nature thus, you must cover their tiredness with quietness and the privacy of their nature with homes.'"

“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You (men) must not offer Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace) to a woman.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah (saww) would offer Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace) to women and they would respond in return and ’Amir al- Mu’minin would offer Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace) to women but disliked to offer Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace) to the young ones, saying, ’I am afraid their voice may attract me and make me feel negatively more than the reward I am seeking.’”
