Hadith 570

Muhammad b. al-Hasan (ra) narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. Ja`far al-Himyari narrated to us. He said: Ya`qub b. Yazid narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr narrated to us from Aban b. `Uthman from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as). He said
The Messenger of Allah (s) said one day to Jabir b. `Abdullah al-Ansari: O Jabir! Surely, you will remain until you meet my descendant Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib, known in the Torah as “Baqir” (the one who splits and dissects knowledge). When you meet him, then deliver my salaam to him. So, Jabir visited `Ali b. al-Husayn (as), and he saw Muhammad b. `Ali (as) with him as a young boy. So, he said to him: O boy! Come forward. So, he came forward. Then, he said to him: Come near. So, he came near. So, Jabir said: The [same] sublime qualities of the Messenger of Allah (shama’il rasulAllah), by the Lord of the Ka`ba. Then, `Ali b. al-Husayn (as) came forward. So, he (Jabir) said to him: Who is this? He said: This is my son and the patron of the Order after me, Muhammad al-Baqir. So, Jabir fell to his feet and kissed them, saying: May my soul be your sacrifice, O son of the Messenger of Allah! The salaam of your father has been accepted. Surely, the Messenger of Allah (s) delivers the salaam to you. He said: So, the eyes of Abi Ja`far (as) filled with tears. Then, he said: O Jabir! Peace be unto my father, the Messenger of Allah (s), so long as heaven and Earth persist; and to you to, Jabir, for delivering the salaam.
9 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن جعفر الحميري، قال: حدثنا يعقوب بن يزيد، قال: حدثنا محمد بن أبي عمير، عن أبان بن عثمان، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد (عليهما السلام)، قال
إن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) قال ذات يوم لجابر بن عبد الله الانصاري: يا جابر، إنك ستبقى حتى تلقى ولدي محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب، المعروف في التوراة بالباقر فإذا لقيته فأقرئه مني السلام. فدخل جابر إلى علي بن الحسين (عليهما السلام) فوجد محمد بن علي (عليهما السلام) عنده غلاما، فقال له، يا غلام، أقبل. فأقبل، ثم قال له: أدبر. فأدبر، فقال جابر: شمائل رسول الله ورب الكعبة، ثم أقبل على علي بن الحسين (عليهما السلام) فقال له، من هذا؟ قال: هذا ابني، وصاحب الامر بعدي محمد الباقر. فقام جابر فوقع على قدميه يقبلهما، ويقول: نفسي لنفسك الفداء يا بن رسول الله، اقبل سلام أبيك، إن رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) يقرأ عليك السلام. قال: فدمعت عينا أبي جعفر (عليه السلام)، ثم قال: يا جابر، على أبي رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) السلام ما دامت السماوات والارض، وعليك - يا جابر - بما بلغت السلام (1).
