Hadith 476

Muhammad b. Majiluwayh (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi’l Khattab narrated to us from Muhammad b. Sinan from `Ammar b. Marwan from Sama`a from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as). He said
Surely, Allah bestowed gifts upon a community, and they were not thankful, so it became a scourge for them; and He tried a community with afflictions, and they were patient, so it became a blessing for them.
4 - حدثنا محمد بن علي ماجيلويه (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن يحيى العطار، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسين بن أبي الخطاب، عن محمد بن سنان عن عمار بن مروان، عن سماعة، عن أبي عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام)، قال
إن الله عز وجل أنعم على قوم بالمواهب، فلم يشكروا، فصارت عليهم وبالا، وابتلى قوما بالمصائب فصبروا، فصارت عليها نعمة (1).
