عمر

Imam Ali (AS) said, Whoever fills his heart with the constant remembrance of Allah, his actions become good [both] in secret and in the open.

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘The one whose heart thrives with the continuous remembrance of Allah, his actions will always be good whether done in secret or openly.

I was told by Umar bin Ali bin Umar bin Yazid, from Hussain bin Qarin, that he ascribed it to Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, that he said: Indeed, the interpretation of your saying of «Ameen», is: My Lord, do. It has been narrated in another narration that Ameen [1] is a Name from the Names of Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He.

I heard abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘In the night there is an hour in which if a Muslim performs Salah (prayer) and appeals before Allah for a wish; his prayer is answered every night. I (the narrator) then asked saying, ‘I pray to Allah to keep you well, which hour is it?’ The Imam replied, ‘It is in the first one-sixth of the second half of the night.”’

“Whenever you pray for forty of your believing brothers before you pray for yourself, God will fulfill your prayers for them and for yourself.”

“I saw abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), fill soil in the grave of a deceased. He held it (soil) in his hand for a while then tossed it in the grave and did not do more than three handfuls. I asked him about it and he replied, ‘O ‘Umar I was saying, “It is out of faith in You (O Allah), and an acknowledgement of Your resurrecting (people). This is what Allah and His Messenger have promised us. Allah and His Messenger are truthful. This has only increased our faith and acceptance.” This is how the Messenger of Allah would do and thus it has become a tradition.’”

“Whoever honors a believer has indeed honored God, and God will fend off catastrophes from whoever prays for his believing brother and increase his share of daily bread.”

“Whoever says three times, ‘Glory be to my Lord, the Great, and praise be to Him. I seek forgiveness from my Lord and turn penitently to Him,’ the Throne [of Allah] makes a sound like the sound of chains striking a bowl.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Do not ignore the expression, “(I begin) in the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful,” even if it is followed by a poem.’”

The Prophet (saw) said to me: "O Salman, when you wake up in the morning, say: 'O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no partner for You. We have entered the morning, and the kingdom belongs to Allah, there is no partner for Him.' Say it three times. And when you enter the evening, say the same, for they will atone for the sins committed between them."

Hadith.57 - Omar ibn Yazid asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about the recitation of supplications in the restroom and reading the Qur'an. Imam (as) said: "It is not permitted to recite more than the Ayat al-Kursi or to praise Allah (swt) (by saying) 'All praise is due to Allah (swt), the Lord (azj) of the worlds' while in the restroom."

“O the Living, O the Guardian, O the One besides Whom no one deserves to be worshipped, I cry to You for help through Your mercy, suffice me whatever concerns me and do not leave me to myself.” One should say it one hundred times in prostrating position.

“I heard abu al-Hassan (a.s.) saying, ‘Prayer, and pleading before Allah for help, repeals Quddira, what is already measured, and the unmeasured.’ I (the narrator) then asked the Imam, ‘I know the meaning of what is ‘Measured’, but what is the meaning of the ‘Unmeasured’?’ The Imam said, ‘So that it (a measure, of misfortune) will not come into being.’”

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), to pray for me for sustenance; my affairs are turning to the worse.’ He (the Imam) quickly said, ‘No, you must go out and work to make a living.’”

“I once went to visit abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), when he performed Salah (prayer). I counted his Tasbih in Ruku’ (bowing down on one’s knees) and Sujud (prostration) which were sixty Tasbih.’”

I heard Aba `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as) say: Whoever prays for forty of his brethren before he prays for himself, it will be granted for them and for him.

“One who inscribes: Maashaa Allaahu laa quwwata illaa billaahi astaghfirullaah on his ring, will remain safe from devastating poverty.”

“I heard abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), when reaching at the backside of al-Ka‘bah after passing the Black Stone, say, ‘O Possessor of munificence, generosity and kindness, my deeds are weak, so increase them and accept them from me; You are all-Hearing and all-Knowing/”

“I once wanted to visit abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.). I dressed up and spread my Taylisan (pallium) which was new and I liked it very much. Somewhere on the road the camel gave me a hard time and it (my dress) was torn in pieces all over. I became depress very much. I then met abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), he looked at my Taylisan and asked, ‘Why do I see your cloth ripped apart?’ I then informed him (the Imam) about what had happened. He (the Imam) said, ‘O ‘Umar, whenever you will wear a new pair of clothes say, “No one deserves worship except Allah. Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.’ You will remain safe from misfortunes and if you like something do not mention it very often because mentioning it causes you great damage. If you need something from a person do not revile him behind his back because Allah drops it in his heart.’”

I asked Aba `Abdillah (as) about desire (al-`ishq), so he said: Hearts that are empty of the remembrance of Allah, so Allah gives them the taste of a love that is other than His.
