3. Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from al-‘Ala’ from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“One of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘A wine addict will meet Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, when he will meet Him, as a worshipper of idols will do.’”
أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا ( عليهما السلام ) قَالَ
قَالَ مُدْمِنُ الْخَمْرِ يَلْقَى اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ حِينَ يَلْقَاهُ كَعَابِدِ وَثَنٍ .

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘A Jewish or a Christian woman cannot become a second wife, the first being a Muslim woman.’”

لا يَتَزَوَّجُ الْيَهُودِيَّةَ وَلا النَّصْرَانِيَّةَ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمَةِ.

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-Husayn ibn abu al-‘Ala’ who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘Can a man apply cupping when he is fasting?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, if he is not afraid of weakness.’”

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عَنِ الْحِجَامَةِ لِلصَّائِمِ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِذَا لَمْ يَخَفْ ضَعْفاً.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from ibn abu Najran from al-‘Ala’ from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“Abu Ja‘far, and abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, have said, ‘We dislike sailing on the sea for business.’”

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from ibn Mahbub from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“I once heard abu Ja’far ‘Alayhi al-Salam, say, ‘It is not harmful for a pregnant woman near her childbirth and a breastfeeding woman who has little milk not to fast in the month of Ramadan. They cannot fast, they must pay a ransom of one mud of food for every day and they are required to make Qada’ (compensatory fast), afterward, of every day of fast they have missed/” Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Hilal from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim from abu Ja‘far (a.s.), a similar Hadith.
1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) يَقُولُ الْحَامِلُ الْمُقْرِبُ وَالْمُرْضِعُ الْقَلِيلَةُ اللَّبَنِ لا حَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمَا أَنْ يُفْطِرَا فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ لأَنَّهُمَا لا تُطِيقَانِ الصَّوْمَ وَعَلَيْهِمَا أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ يُفْطِرُ فِيهِ بِمُدٍّ مِنْ طَعَامٍ وَعَلَيْهِمَا قَضَاءُ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ أَفْطَرَتَا فِيهِ تَقْضِيَانِهِ بَعْدُ. مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ هِلالٍ عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) مِثْلَهُ.

Hadith.2607 - Al-Husayn ibn Abi al-‘Ala’ asked Imam (as) about a garment for a Muhrim that has been stained with saffron and then washed. Imam (as) said: "There is no harm in it if the scent has been removed. Even if it has been entirely dyed, as long as it leans toward whiteness and has been washed, there is no harm in it."
2607 - وَ سَأَلَهُ اَلْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَبِي اَلْعَلاَءِ : عَنِ اَلثَّوْبِ لِلْمُحْرِمِ يُصِيبُهُ اَلزَّعْفَرَانُ ثُمَّ يُغْسَلُ فَقَالَ
«لاَ بَأْسَ بِهِ إِذَا ذَهَبَ رِيحُهُ وَ لَوْ كَانَ مَصْبُوغاً كُلُّهُ إِذَا ضُرِبَ إِلَى اَلْبَيَاضِ وَ غُسِلَ فَلاَ بَأْسَ ».

“Is the world left without an imam?” He replied: “No, it is not.”

قلت له: تبقى الأرض بغير إمام؟ قال: لا.

11. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from al-Husayn ibn Ali from Rib’iy from al-‘Ala’ ibn al-Muq‘ad who has said the following
“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, has assigned a Hijjir (persistent in doing something) angel on al-Yemaniy corner who says ‘Amen’ when you pray to Allah.’”
11ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ الْمُقْعَدِ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) يَقُولُ إِنَّ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَكَّلَ بِالرُّكْنِ الْيَمَانِيِّ مَلَكاً هِجِّيراً يُؤَمِّنُ عَلَى دُعَائِكُمْ.

3. Ibn Mahbub has narrated from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“I once saw abu Ja‘far (a.s.), chewing gums and he (the Imam) said, ‘O Muhammad, woad has loosened my molar teeth so I chew gums to strengthen them . 5 His teeth had become loose so he tied them with gold.”
ابْنُ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) يَمْضَغُ عِلْكاً فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ نَقَضَتِ الْوَسِمَةُ أَضْرَاسِي فَمَضَغْتُ هَذَا الْعِلْكَ لِأَشُدَّهَا قَالَ وَ كَانَتِ اسْتَرْخَتْ فَشَدَّهَا بِالذَّهَبِ .

10. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about al-Jamar. He (the Imam) said, ‘You must not throw pebbles on al-Jamar unless you are with Tahur (cleansing, wudu’ or Ghusl (bath)).”’

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘People performing al-Hajj on the day of ‘Arafah, must stop saying Talbiyah at Zawal (declining of the sun toward the west at noontime).”’
1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم)
أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْحَاجُّ يَقْطَعُ التَّلْبِيَةَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ زَوَالَ الشَّمْسِ.

4. Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from al-‘Ala’ from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“I once asked one of the two Imam, (abu Ja’far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about a man who suddenly comes across Salah (prayer) for a deceased without Wudu’. He (the Imam) said, ‘He can say Takbir (Allah is great beyond description) along with them.’”
4ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا (عَلَيْهِما الْسَّلام) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ تَفْجَأُهُ الْجِنَازَةُ وَهُوَ عَلَى غَيْرِ طُهْرٍ قَالَ فَلْيُكَبِّرْ مَعَهُمْ.

12. Abu Ali al-Ash’ari has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following
“About a man who had shaken hand with Majusi (Zoroastrian), the Imam said, ‘He must wash it but he does not need to perform wuzu again.’”
12ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام)
فِي رَجُلٍ صَافَحَ رَجُلاً مَجُوسِيّاً قَالَ يَغْسِلُ يَدَهُ وَلا يَتَوَضَّأُ.

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Ftakam from al-Husayn ibn abu al-‘Ala’ who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘Can a woman during her Hayd (menses) drink water which is her own leftover? 5 He (the Imam) replied, ‘It is permissible for her to do so but she must not use it for Wudu 5 .

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنِ الْحَائِضِ يُشْرَبُ مِنْ سُؤْرِهَا قَالَ نَعَمْ وَلاَ يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهُ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from a man who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about masturbation. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is of the sinful acts. Going to bed with a slave-girl is better than this.’”
1- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْخَضْخَضَةِ فَقَالَ هِيَ مِنَ الْفَوَاحِشِ وَنِكَاحُ الأمَةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ.

Al-A'ala ibn Kamil narrated that once he told Imam Musa ibn Ja'far (a.s) that God had granted him so many blessings that he could not even count, and he did not know the reason for that. The Imam (a.s) asked if he really did not know the reason and told him that it was due to his thanksgiving. And in another tradition we read that the
Imam (a.s) told him not to underestimate thanksgiving.”
عن العلاء بن كامل قال
قلت لأبي الحسن (عليه السلام): آتاني الله بأمور لا أحتسبها، لا أدري كيف وجوهها؟ قال: أو لا تعلم أن هذا من الشكر؟ وفي رواية: قال لي: لا تستصغر الحمد.

9. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about a man who has missed one Rak‘at of Salah (prayer) with Imam on the days of al-Tashriq (11,12 and 13 of Dhul Hajj). He (the Imam) said, ‘He must complete Salah (prayer) and say Takbir (Allah is great beyond description).”’
9ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ فَاتَتْهُ رَكْعَةٌ مَعَ الإِمَامِ مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ أَيَّامَ التَّشْرِيقِ قَالَ يُتِمُّ الصَّلاَةَ وَيُكَبِّرُ.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from al-‘Ala’ from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘One of you in order to rub oil on his body covers his whole body with an amount of oil on his palm. Water, however, is more plentiful than this.”
1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
يَأْخُذُ أَحَدُكُمُ الرَّاحَةَ مِنَ الدُّهْنِ فَيَمْلأُ بِهَا جَسَدَهُ وَالْمَاءُ أَوْسَعُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ.

Hadith.4646 - Al-Alaa ibn Razin asked Abu Abdullah (as) about the the general masses (Jumhur al-Nas). Imam (as) said: "They are today considered people of truce. Their lost property is to be returned to them, their trusts are to be fulfilled, their blood is to be protected, and marriage with them and inheritance from them is permissible in this state."
4646 - وَ سَأَلَ اَلْعَلاَءُ بْنُ رَزِينٍ أَبَا عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : عَنْ جُمْهُورِ اَلنَّاسِ فَقَالَ
"هُمُ اَلْيَوْمَ أَهْلُ هُدْنَةٍ تُرَدُّ ضَالَّتُهُمْ وَ تُؤَدَّى أَمَانَتُهُمْ وَ تُحْقَنُ دِمَاؤُهُمْ وَ تَجُوزُ مُنَاكَحَتُهُمْ وَ مُوَارَثَتُهُمْ فِي هَذَا اَلْحَالِ".
