hadith 1010
20. Yunus has narrated from ibn Muskan from abu Basir who has said the following
“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying about, ‘Whoever is given wisdom, certainly, has received much good. . . .,’ (2:269) it (such wisdom) means (having the ability to) recognize the Imam and avoid committing major sins for which Allah has made it necessary to send the perpetrators to fire.’”
20ـ يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ وَمَنْ يُؤْتَ الْحِكْمَةَ فَقَدْ أُوتِيَ خَيْراً كَثِيراً قَالَ مَعْرِفَةُ الإمَامِ وَاجْتِنَابُ الْكَبَائِرِ الَّتِي أَوْجَبَ الله عَلَيْهَا النَّارَ.

11. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from Ayyub al-Hurr from abu Basir from Imam abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) who has said the following
about the words of Allah ‘Whoever is given wisdom he has received a great deal of goodness’ (2:273) “It means obedience to Allah and knowin who one’s Imam is.”
11ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ الْحُرِّ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فِي قَوْلِ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَمَنْ يُؤْتَ الْحِكْمَةَ فَقَدْ أُوتِيَ خَيْراً كَثِيراً فَقَالَ
طَاعَةُ الله وَمَعْرِفَةُ الامَامِ.

20. Abu Ali al-Ash’ari has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Kufi from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sa’id ibn Yasar from Mansur ibn Yunus from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“It is in the wisdom of Ale (people of) Dawud: ‘A person of reason must learn about the nature of his time, pay attention to his affairs and safeguard his tongue.’”
20ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْكُوفِيِّ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ يُونُسَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
فِي حِكْمَةِ آلِ دَاوُدَ عَلَى الْعَاقِلِ أَنْ يَكُونَ عَارِفاً بِزَمَانِهِ مُقْبِلاً عَلَى شَأْنِهِ حَافِظاً لِلِسَانِهِ.

hadith 963
7. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il from Mansur ibn Yunus from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following.
“I said to abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.), “A man said to me, “You must know the last of the Imams and it does not matter if you would not know the first of the Imams.” The narrator has said that the Imam (a.s.) said, “May Allah condemn this. I am angry with him and I do not know him. How can the last Imam be recognized except through the first Imam?”
7ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ يُونُسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لابِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) رَجُلٌ قَالَ لِيَ اعْرِفِ الاخِرَ مِنَ الائِمَّةِ وَلا يَضُرُّكَ أَنْ لا تَعْرِفَ الاوَّلَ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَعَنَ الله هَذَا فَإِنِّي أُبْغِضُهُ وَلا أَعْرِفُهُ وَهَلْ عُرِفَ الاخِرُ إِلا بِالاوَّلِ.

262. A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Muhammad Bin Al-Waleed, from Yunus Bin Yaqoub who said
Kumeyt chanted some poems to Abu Abdullah (asws), so he said: ‘May Allah (azwj) Make my desires sincere to me so I do not pull the string of my bow, and my arrows do not waver’. So Abu Abdullah (asws) said; ‘Do not say like this, ‘I do not pull the string of my bow’, but say, ‘So I have pulled the string of my bow and my arrows do not waver’.
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ
أَنْشَدَ الْكُمَيْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) شِعْراً فَقَالَ: أَخْلَصَ اللَّهُ لِي هَوَايَ فَمَا أُغْرِقُ نَزْعاً وَ لَا تَطِيشُ سِهَامِي فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) لَا تَقُلْ هَكَذَا فَمَا أُغْرِقُ نَزْعاً وَ لَكِنْ قُلْ فَقَدْ أُغْرِقَ نَزْعاً وَ لَا تَطِيشُ سِهَامِي.

hadith 524
524. Yunus, from Sowrat Bin Kuleyb, who has reported the following: Abu Abdullah (asws) regarding the statement of Allah (azwj) Blessed and High: “[41:29] Our Lord! show us those who led us astray from among the jinn and the men that we may trample them under our feet so that they may be of the lowest”, he (asws) said
‘O Sowrat! Those two (Abu Bakr and Umar), by Allah (azwj) those two (Abu Bakr and Umar) three times over. By Allah (azwj), O Sowrat, we (asws) are the Treasurers of the Knowledge of Allah (azwj) in the sky and we (asws) are the Treasurers of the Knowledge of Allah (azwj) in the earth’.
يُونُسُ عَنْ سَوْرَةَ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى رَبَّنا أَرِنَا الَّذَيْنِ أَضَلَّانا مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَ الْإِنْسِ نَجْعَلْهُما تَحْتَ أَقْدامِنا لِيَكُونا مِنَ الْأَسْفَلِينَ
قَالَ يَا سَوْرَةُ هُمَا وَ اللَّهِ هُمَا ثَلَاثاً وَ اللَّهِ يَا سَوْرَةُ إِنَّا لَخُزَّانُ عِلْمِ اللَّهِ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَ إِنَّا لَخُزَّانُ عِلْمِ اللَّهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ.

7. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn Shammun from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Qasim from Yunus ibn Zabyan from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“Allah has created the hearts of the believers wrapped up over belief. When He wills to light it up He opens it with wisdom and plants it with knowledge. The farmer and guardian thereof is the Lord of the worlds.”
7ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَمُّونٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ ظَبْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
إِنَّ الله خَلَقَ قُلُوبَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مُبْهَمَةً عَلَى الإيمَانِ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ اسْتِنَارَةَ مَا فِيهَا فَتَحَهَا بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَزَرَعَهَا بِالْعِلْمِ وَزَارِعُهَا وَالْقَيِّمُ عَلَيْهَا رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ‏.

hadith 698
Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from Ibrahim b. Hashim from Isma`il b. Marrar from Yunus b. `Abd al-Rahman from another person from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as). He said
`Isa b. Maryam (as) stood to deliver a sermon to the Children of Israel. So, he said: O Children of Israel! Do not impart wisdom to the ignorant, for you will have oppressed it; and do not prevent it from its people, for you will have oppressed them.
/ 17 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، عن إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن إسماعيل بن مرار، عن يونس بن عبد الرحمن، عن غير واحد، عن أبي عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام)، قال
قام عيسى بن مريم (عليه السلام) خطيبا في بني إسرائيل، فقال: يا بني إسرائيل، لا تحدثوا الجهال بالحكمة فتظلموها، ولا تمنعوها أهلها فتظلموهم (3).

28-23 Muhammad ibn Ali Majiluyih - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashim quoted his father, on the authority of Yahya ibn Imran al-Hamedany, on the authority of Yunus ibn Abdul-Rahman, on the authority of Hisham ibn al-Hakam, on the authority of Umar ibn Yazid
“I asked Aba Abdullah as-Sadiq (MGB), “Is what we have heard being God’s Prophet (MGB) taught Ali (MGB) one-thousand gates each of which opens all other gates true?” The Imam (MGB) replied, “Yes, It is true.” The Imam (MGB) told me, “The Prophet (MGB) taught him (MGB) a single gate which opens up to all of one- thousand gates each of which opens up to another one-thousand gates.”
28-23 حدثنا محمد بن علي ماجيلويه رضي الله عنه قال: حدثنا علي بن إبراهيم ابن هاشم، عن أبيه، عن يحيى بن عمران الهمداني، عن يونس بن عبدالرحمن، عن هشام بن الحكم، عن عمر بن يزيد قال
قلت لابي عبد الله عليه السلام: بلغنا أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله علم عليا عليه السلام ألف باب، يفتح كل باب ألف باب؟ قال: نعم [فقال لي: بل علمه بابا واحدا فتح ذلك الباب ألف باب، فتح كل باب ألف باب]
