Ruqayya bt. Ishaq b. Musa b. Ja`far b. Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib narrated to us from her father from her forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: No worshiper’s foot will move on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about four: (1) his life – how did he spend it? (2) His youth – how did he use it? (3) His wealth – where did he earn it, and how did he spend it? (4) And about loving us, the Ahl al-Bayt.

Whoever visits me despite the far distance to my tomb, I will come to save him on the Resurrection Day on three occasions until I liberate him from his terrors: 1- When the Letters of Deeds are handed to his right and to his left hands, 2- At the moment of crossing the Bridge over Hell, and 3- At the time when the Scale of Deeds (measuring the amount of good vs. bad deeds) is set up.”

A servant will be asked about four (things) on the Resurrection Day before he can move: how he spent his lifetime; what he used his youth for; how he earned his income; and how he spent it; and about our love - the love for the members of the Holy Household.”

Seven people will be in the Shade of the Honorable the Exalted God’s Throne on the day in which there is no shade except for His Shade: just leaders; young people who have grown up in the worship of God; men who give charity in private such that even their left hands do not realize what they gave with their right hands (stressing the fact that they give charity such that no one else sees it); men who remember the Honorable the Exalted God when they are alone and cry due to the fear of the Honorable the Exalted God; men who upon seeing their believing brethren say, ‘I like you for the sake of the Honorable the Exalted God’; men who intend to return to the mosque whenever they leave it; men invited by a beautiful woman, but do not accept her invitation and say that they fear the Lord of the Two Worlds.”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: On the Day of Resurrection, you will come – O `Ali – on a she-camel of light. A crown with four pillars will be upon your head, and on each pillar, three lines will be written: “There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, `Ali is the Friend of Allah (la ilaha illallah, muhammadan rasul Allah, `Aliyyun wali Allah).” You will be given the keys to Paradise. Then, a seat known as the “Seat of Honour” will be placed for you, and you will sit on it. Then, the former and the latter peoples will be gathered for you on one plane. Then, you will command your Shi`a to go to Paradise and your enemies to the Fire, for you are the Divider of Paradise, and you are the Divider of the Fire. He who aligns with you is triumphant, and he who opposes you has lost. On that Day, you will be the trustee of Allah and the clear Proof of Allah.

A young man from the Ansar used to come to `Abdullah b. `Abbas, and `Abdullah used to honour him and bring him close. So, it was said to him: You honour this young man and bring him close while he is an evil young man who goes to the graves and exhumes them at night! So, `Abdullah b. `Abbas said: If that were the case, then inform me. He said: So, the young man went out one night and began digging up a grave. `Abdullah b. `Abbas was informed of that, so he went to investigate his matter. He stood in a position where the young man could not see him. He said: So, he entered the grave that he dug. Then, he lay in the grave, and called out at the top of his voice: “Woe to me! When I enter lonely and alone, and the Earth sinks beneath me, it says: ‘No greeting and no welcome to you. I hated you while you were on my back, so how about while you are in my stomach!’ Surely, woe to me when I look at the prophets standing and the angels in rows. Who will save me from Your justice tomorrow? Who will deliver me from the tormented ones? Who will take me out of the punishment of the Fire? I disobeyed He who cannot be disobeyed. I made promises to my Lord, again and again, yet no sincerity nor loyalty was found in me.” He repeated this and wept. When he got out of the grave, Ibn `Abbas embraced him, and then said to him: The best of exhumers, the best of exhumers, the best of exhumers! Your exhuming is not for sins or errors. Then, they went.
