"There is no harm as long as he does not fear weakness."

I asked him about a man whose son has wealth, and the father is in need of it. Imam (as) said: "He may take from it, but as for the mother, she should not take from it except as a loan upon herself."

"Muslims are bound by their conditions."

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘I dislike a man whose footgear is without pursuer (the back part to support the back of the heels).”’

I asked him about a borrowed item (ariyyah) that a person borrows, and it either perishes or is stolen. Imam (as) said: "If he is trustworthy, then there is no liability upon him."

"I asked Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) about a man who has slaves and wills to free one-third of them. Imam (as) said: 'Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) used to draw lots among them.'"

I asked him about a Muhrim who needs to wear various types of different clothing. Imam (as) said: "For each type of clothing, he must offer an expiation (fidya)."

“One of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘The free and slaves do not inherit each other.’”

“About the case of a woman whose husband has died, one of the two Imam, (abu Ja‘far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said that her maintenance must be paid from her husband’s assets.’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘The ordained shares do not face deficiency.”’

Hadith.1800 - Muhammad ibn Muslim and Zurara ibn A‘yan asked Abu Ja‘far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) about fasting on the Day of Ashura. Imam (as) said: "Its fasting was practiced before the Month of Ramadan, but when the Month of Ramadan was prescribed, it was abandoned."

“Muhammad ibn Muslim once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), when I was listening, about a traveler who thinks to stay for ten days. He (the Imam) said, ‘He is required to perform his Salah (prayer) as complete. If he does not know for how long he will stay, like for one or more, he can count to thirty days, then perform his Salah (prayer) as complete even if thereafter he stays for one day or one Salah (prayer).’ Muhammad ibn Muslim then said, ‘I am told that you have said it is five.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, I had said that.’ Abu Ayyub has said that he said, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, can it be less than five?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it cannot be less than five.’”

Hadith.2368 - Muhammad ibn Muslim asked one of the Imams (as) about a gazelle entering the Sacred Sanctuary (Haram). Imam (as) replied: "It should not be taken or touched because Allah (swt), the Almighty, says: 'And whoever enters it shall be safe.'"

Hadith.2335 - It has been narrated from Muhammad ibn Muslim, from Abu Abdullah (as): "It is not appropriate for anyone to take soil from around the House (Kaaba), and if someone takes anything from it, they must return it."

"A mudabbar (a slave promised freedom after the owner's death) is considered to be from the one-third (of the estate). A man has the right to retract from his bequest regarding this one-third, whether he made the will during his health or illness."

"Making a will is a duty, and the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) indeed made a will. Therefore, it is appropriate for a Muslim to make a will."

"I am obligated to offer a camel," but did not specify where it should be slaughtered. Imam (as) said: "The slaughtering is to be done at Mina, and it should be distributed among the needy."

“Abū ʿJaʿfar (a) said, ‘It used to be said: verily among the most beloved of the servants of Allah to Allah is the doer of good who repents often.’”

"A Muhrim may cover his nose from a pleasant fragrance but should not cover his nose from an unpleasant odor."

“Whoever you associate with, if you can maintain an upper hand (in your dealings with him) do so (be more beneficial).”
